STEM High Tea

8 students enjoying high tea with Macinley Butson, Young Australian of the Year

On Saturday the girls of 5/6B went to a High Tea at Saint Mathews with the award winning Young Australian of the Year, Macinley Butson. Macinley has a love for science and inventions and told us all about her own inventions and why she made them. She taught us that girls are as strong as boys and that if we find a problem in the world we can fix it.. In my opinion, Macinley Butson is definitely an inspiration to young girls who love inventing things. It was an honour meeting Macinley Butson and she is definitely a person you should look up to in the future.  PS the cakes were yummy too!

Macinley Butson taught us that if we find a problem there is no one stopping us from fixing it. She taught us about herself, how girls can be in STEM and helped us be confident. I had the honour of thanking Macinley and I told her that she was inspiring to young girls. It was a thrill to meet her!
